Margins or No Margins?
We sometimes get asked if DTF artwork/design files need margins added before uploading.
The short answer is No, you do not need to add margins.
As long as your design fits on the artboard/page in your designing program, it will be printed. So go ahead and fit your artwork or graphic to the edge of the page.
When uploading your file on our website, if you get a message saying: "Some of your design is off the visible page.", then your design doesn't fit within the print area and could have the edges cut off. You either need to resize it within the preview on the website or double check your page size in your design program.
*Sometimes the warning message is caused because of not expanding or converting Outlines/Strokes. This could cause some of the design to hang off the artboard/page and get cut off.
Some customers like to be safe and give themselves a little margin around the edge, and that is OK. Adding a very small margin (ex. 0.001") can ensure your design doesn't get cropped or cut off, but will not noticeably change the overall size.
When ordering DTF Per Piece, be sure to input the size of your page/artboard including the margins. That way your design will print at the correct size.
